Researching Mortgages on Your Own

In Common Questions, First-Time Home Buyers

Most people like to research things by themselves, before they talk to a professional. If you want some of the most accurate, up-to-date mortgage information available when researching mortgages on your own, before you talk to a lender, visit our website, and check out our blog.

Most lenders these days have web sites and some have blogs, but very often, the information on these sites is inaccurate or misleading. The goal of many lender web sites is to tease you with low rates that are not really available unless you have perfect credit, 25% down, and are willing to pay outrageous closing costs and points to get those rates.

We take a different approach.  Our goal is to educate you, so you will make the most informed decision when you get a mortgage. We want to make sure you are completely comfortable before you get to the closing table. We attend all our closings, and we know we’ve done a good job with a client if they have no questions for us at the closing.  A mortgage is probably the largest amount of debt you will ever take on, and it would be foolish not to know as much as possible about your loan before you sign your name and assume that debt.

We encourage you to read through the information on our website and blog. Many of the questions you have will be answered there.

If you have any questions that didn’t get answered, give us a call, send us an email or send us a text.  We’re happy to help.
